Our newly furnished forest chalet in the style of a Swiss house from the 1930s in the upper part of Hasserode is quietly located right on the edge of the forest.
The forest chalet offers enough space for 4 persons and 1 child. The light natural tones, as well as wooden floorboards and high-quality furniture create a cozy atmosphere.
Idyllically surrounded by a large garden property, the house is located in the upper part of Hasserode in Wernigerode. A wonderful base for relaxing holidays in our beautiful Harz Mountains, with many hiking and biking trails.
The historical city center of Wernigerode is close by and the Hasseröder holiday park with swimming pool and fun area for young and old is just a few steps away.

Forest Chalet
The ground floor of the forest chalet consists of a small entrance area with a guest toilet, a new high-end kitchen, a cozy reading room to relax in, a spacious living room with a winter garden, which also serves as a dining room. A spacious lounge terrace with seating area and an electric grill can be found on the south side of the house for a relaxing stay in the green countryside.
The first floor includes a modern bathroom with a large shower, a dressing room with a sofa bed (extendable to 140cm), a bedroom for 2 persons with a king-size box spring bed (180 x 200cm), a bedroom with a queen-size box spring bed (120 x 200) and another bedroom with a single bed (85 x 180cm) for a child.
The beautiful, newly furnished rooms are rounded up with a large balcony and a direct view of the garden and the forest.
The property is entirely fenced with a parking space and a carport for your car. The safe storage of bicycles, motorbikes or a vintage car etc. is also guaranteed.

Please note that the house is accessible via a stone staircase.

Our newly furnished holiday apartment in the forest chalet Am Steinberg is located in the upper part of Hasserode directly on the edge of the forest.
The modernized apartment can accommodate 4 persons. The light natural tones, the wooden floorboards and the high-quality furniture create a cozy atmosphere.
The guests have access to a large garden with a furnished terrace. The accommodation is located on the edge of the forest, a perfect site for relaxing holidays in the Harz Mountains. The hiking trails in the Harz Forest start right next to the property.
The historical city center of Wernigerode is close by and the Hasseröder holiday park with swimming pool and fun area for young and old is just a few steps away.
The ground floor of the apartment offers a well-equipped kitchen with a dining table, two bedrooms and a bathroom with shower and toilet. A spiral staircase leads to the upper floor where the living room is and the access to a large balcony overlooking the garden and the forest. Also on the upper floor, there is a second bathroom with a free-standing bathtub, a storage room and a small reading area.
The property is entirely fenced with a parking space and a carport for your car. The safe storage of bicycles, motorbikes or a vintage car etc. is also guaranteed.
Please note that the house is accessible through stone stairs and that the upper floor of the apartment is only reachable via the spiral staircase.

Excursions in the Harz
Our city of Wernigerode
The popular town of Wernigerode with its historic town center and the elaborately restored and colorful half-timbered houses is located on the northern edge of the Harz Mountains. The German writer Hermann Löns gave the nickname „Colorful City of Harz“ towards the end of the 19th century. The town hall on the market square, the crooked house, the smallest house, and the oldest house are just some of the special features that contribute to the rich half-timbered idyll of Wernigerode.
Particularly worth a visit are the remains of the city fortifications, the Krummelsches Haus, whose front is completely covered with a carved wooden façade. The Wernigerode Castle®, whose towers majestically throne over the city, offers visitors interesting information about the German high nobility. Some of the originally furnished living quarters provide 800 years of history of the counts and princes in Wernigerode. The palace gardens (terrace garden and pleasure garden) are part of the state project “Garden Dreams”. The circular hiking trail „Garden Dreams in the Harz Mountains“ offers a great opportunity to combine a visit to the castle, terraced garden, and pleasure garden with a scenic hike.
The Harz in small format can be admired in the miniature park „Kleiner Harz“ in Wernigerode’s Bürgerpark. With its recreational areas, themed gardens, lake promenade, animal enclosure, observation tower and mineral gorge, the Bürgerpark also offers an ideal excursion destination for the whole family.
Another highlight for young and old is the Hasseröder holiday park with its large adventure pool world, wellness and sauna area, bowling and skittles center and indoor playground.
Interesting facts from various subject areas can be found out for example in the Aviation Museum, in the Krellsche Schmiede anno 1678, in the Harz Planetarium and in the Wernigerode Fire Brigade Museum.
And if you want to explore the beautiful Harz landscape around Wernigerode and the legendary Brocken in a unique way, you can combine your hike with a ride on the historic steam locomotive of the Harz narrow-gauge railways.
Wernigerode offers its guests the only ski lift in the eastern Harz Mountains in in winter.
